Dr. Montoya

“I have always been fascinated by the pathophysiology of cancer and the mechanisms in which we treat disease. We are in an exciting time in oncology. We have newer agents that are more targeted to specific diseases, leading to longer and better quality survival.”

Dr. Montoya brings his multifaceted personality to the Cancer Care team. An avid fitness enthusiast, he participates in swimming, crossfit, cycling, rowing, running and snow skiing. He has raced in many triathlons over the years. When out of the office, he moonlights as a professional musician. He enjoys international travel with his wife, Sonia. His daughter, Dr. Simone Montoya, is a graduate of the University of Miami Medical School and a radiology resident at University of Rochester. His son, Michael, will be graduating from the University of Florida with a BA in Business. His stepdaughter, Rachel, is a student at Clemson University where she is on the varsity rowing team. His stepson, Jacob, is a student at Valencia College.
